The following story is due to overpopulation and human neglect – animals who aren’t spayed or neutered causes young animals to be subsequently abandoned after their mothers give birth. These infant animals have little to no chance in surviving on the harsh streets.
Feline newborn Iris is no exception.
Found on the streets in the rain, Iris was saved by a woman who quickly brought her to safety. Iris was hardly breathing and remained deathly still in the woman’s arms.
The woman quickly wrapped a paper bag around Iris in a bid to keep her warm – the bag was all she had on hand that time. It worked, as Iris started to slowly respond to human touch.
Iris was quickly rushed to the nearby local animal clinic for emergency medical treatment. Her umbilical cord was still attached.
The vets at the animal clinic prepared a suitable cat milk formula for Iris, and she slowly recuperated.
They had to feed the milk to her with the smallest bottle and nozzle they could find.
Iris slept peacefully after the warm milk, with her sleeping quarters layered with plenty of towels. She clutched the milk bottle while she slept.
Iris was adored by the medical team at the clinic, as they took turns to check on her.
Iris will be put up for adoption once she is old enough to move around independently.
Isn’t Iris such a sweet kitten? Thank god she’s safe now!
