This poor dog was found dead along the side of Oil Well Road in Covington County, Mississippi over the weekend. The dog had been hung from a tree with what appeared to be speaker wire. The dog also had some wounds on its body which indicated it had been dragged on the road. The residents in this area say it isn’t uncommon to find animals that have been mistreated.
The maximum punishment it $1,000 fine and a jail sentence of up to six months. But the person has to be caught first. Deputy Greg Mcarney arrived on scene and removed the dog. Mcarney said that he wants to see the person responsible to be charged with this crime. So would I!
People who have any information about the death of the black and white dog are being asked to call the Covington County Sheriff’s Office at 601.765.8281.
Share away, people.
