After his dog had run off, a Michigan boy was trying to capture him when he was killed by a car on Saturday night. Fox 2 Detroit News reported that the 10-year-old boy was identified as Gage Carter and that he was chasing his dog “Stitch” when the two were both hit by the car in Westland.
The driver, the 69-year-old woman, was not impaired by drugs or alcohol. A member of Gage’s family said that Stitch had run out of the house through a door that had been just opened by a family friend. The dog ran out into the street and Gage ran after him. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family pay for his funeral.
Our hearts and prayers go out to Gage’s family. He was taken away too soon. If you can help, consider making a donation. Share away, people.
